The EXTREME Bedroom Makeover

I've been looking forward to today for weeks now and now as I'm sitting here trying to share the incredible blessing that took place I just can't keep the tears from streaming down my face. It's always an amazing experience when a group of people who love God decide to do something practical in HIS name! A few weeks ago I got a call from a friend at church. She wanted to know if Amy or her children needed anything for Christmas. Her small group wanted to come together to do something in the name of Jesus to be a blessing to my sister, the single mom, and her three sweet children. So I shared a few needs of Amy's (Nate needed a new bed since he was still in a toddler bed, Abby needed a new car seat, etc). I thought they would pick just one thing to do, but Nate's new bed turned into an entire room makeover for the Marshall kids. And Abby ended up with a new booster seat too!
Here's a glimpse of our day through pictures!!

The Marshalls were kicked out of their house around 2pm and these Santa Elves arrived!
This picture was taken when the room was almost complete. I wish I had taken a before picture, because the transformation is amazing!!! The room is so much more spacious and bright!

Emma and Abby used to have bunk beds and Nate had a toddler bed in this room. Now they have one bed with a single on top for Emma and a double on the bottom for Abby and Nate to share!


Very cute wall stickers now decorate the room and now there is plenty of room for Nate to play on his train table.

A new hamper, light, very cool chair and a lava lamp now fill this corner of the room.

Isn't the bedding adorable? Perfect for boys and girls!

Everyone had a grand time climbing to the top bunk. This bed has two ladders, so now they can have ladder races. I wouldn't have thought of that, but leave it up to this crew to make a race out of everything.

And here is Nate! Ready for bed at 6pm! He asked to get his pj's on right away. He couldn't wait to go to bed. So he and I laid their for awhile with the lights out and watched the lava lamp.

So today was a huge blessing for Emma, Abby and Nate! Amy and I were both completely overwhelmed with emotion as we sat in the children's beautiful new room looking at the thought and love that went into it! Words cannot even begin to express our gratitude to the small group who took this project on! The verse that keeps coming to my mind is Ephesians 3:17 And it says; "And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!"

Thank you small group friends for giving Emma, Abby and Nate a taste of how wide, how long, how high and how deep God's love is for them! I know they felt loved and I told them that they got this room makeover because there is a group of people who love Jesus and wanted to be a blessing to them!! Thank you, Again and Again!

what an amazing blessing!!! :) Just shows how God can use people...if we aren't involve with community and people around us than we aren't allowing God to work in special ways that He does in and through His people. What an amazing night. I am sure that the kids will love this room for months on end. I think I had this same bunk bed in highschool but in white. :) Love it and love the idea that this group had. :)

That is so awesome! No our Father is so AWESOME! How he uses people, simple humans, over and over again to bring blessings about inour lives is amazing to me!
