"I'm not a big boy...I'm a baby."

"I'm not a big boy, I'm a baby." Do you know how many times I've heard that in the last three weeks?? Christian is definitely a little jealous of the attention McKenna's been getting. The clincher was when he walked into my bedroom sporting one of McKenna's binkies. I made it very clear that he's never had a binkie and he's not going to start having one now. Christian now asks me to rock him, something he hasn't had time for in the last six months, and he wants me to sleep with him in his bed. Whenever he suffers the slightest injury he quickly melts into a puddle of tears and needs to be held for the next 30 minutes. I am so glad that I didn't start potty training. I really thought about it two months ago when he seemed to be showing some interest, but then I decided that I just wasn't going to put myself (and him) through the stress of it right before Christmas. Plus I didn't want to be cleaning up accidents when I was nine months pregnant. Now I'm very glad we've waited because I'm sure he would have regressed at this point. I'm planning on potty training both Christian and Nathan at the same some time this spring when everything settles down a little bit. I know all of this baby stuff will blow over quickly enough and Christian will be back to his usual "I can do it," independent self. In the meantime I'm just going to enjoy having two "babies" to hold!

Yes, it will all blow over. This is what EVERY new big brother goes through - my boys did the same thing!! Just remind him that babies don't get to play with trains or watch Thomas shows!!! He will come around - he'll like getting to do all his special big boys things...it is a phase!!!
