Pumpkin time!

We've had such a fun morning . First we went shopping at AC Moore to buy some fall crafts to do. We got lots of little pumpkin projects to work on over the next several weeks. (I'm sure I'll be posting pictures of those later). Then Christian, Abby, Nate and I stopped by a Mennonite Farm Stand and everyone got to pick out their own pumpkin.
We just got little pumpkins so that my "little pumpkins" could carry them all by themselves. For some reason I thought the biggest pumpkin would be the most popular, but in this case everyone has been arguing over who's is the smallest one. Just for the record, the smallest one belongs to Nate, but Abby has claimed it as her own!
Christian loves his "puckin" and can't wait to give Emma the one he picked out for her when she gets off the bus today!!
Abby thinks we should all "bash our pumpkins open" so we can make a pumpkin pie. Apparently her mommy has made a pumpkin pie from scratch before. Aunt Judy has no interest in making a pumpkin pie from scratch when it conveniently comes in a can at the store!!

I am with Aunt Judy on the pie from scratch... I won't make it at all, I just let my Mom make it and go to her house to eat it! We are going to the Pumpkin Patch on Friday, I love this time of year.

Pumpkin in the can is way easier - still 100% pumpkin. Let them scoop out the seeds and roast those - that's a much better idea. I'm ready for some fall crafts too - I love it!! But I'm not very good at the crafty stuff.

I confess to doing things the hard way and making pumpkin pies from scratch, but only occasionally! I'm amazed that Abby remembered at all! I love to make pumpkin pies, but 80% of the time they come from a good old fashioned can!

I love your pictures. I'm looking forward to taking the kids to the patch near us. Does it count that I use the pumpkin (not the pie filling) from a can as "from sratch"? Anna :)
